Besides cooking, my other interests include health and fitness. As a matter of fact, I started weight training at the age of 18 while in the Navy, and was participating in powerlifting competitions as a Deputy Sheriff. Not to brag, but I won most of the competitions and benched 165 lbs. So when I considered what other topics to blog about,  fitness and nutrition seemed like an obvious choice.

 

I would like to say upfront that I am not a nutritionist, but I do have a lot of knowledge related to various diets. Let’s just say I’ve done a lot of reading on the subject. Additionally, I went through the process to become certified as a personal trainer but stopped short of taking my final test. Dealing with chronic back pain, which forced me to medically retire from the Sheriff’s Department, also discouraged me from pursuing my dream of becoming a Personal Trainer.
