TERIYAKI SALMON BOWL

Teriyaki Salmon Bowls (also called Buddha Bowls) are easy to prepare, nutritious, and so tasty!

So, how does one make a Teriyaki Bowl? Well, first let's look at the ingredients!

RICE INGREDIENTS

• sesame oil • sesame seeds • jasmine rice • salt • water

SAUCE INGREDIENTS

• Teriyaki sauce • honey • rice wine vinegar • chili paste  • garlic (crushed) • ginger powder • cornstarch • water

TOPPING INGREDIENTS

• broccoli florets • baby carrots  • salmon  • sesame oil • black sesame seeds

– Heat oil in a small saucepan. Add sesame seeds and toast until fragrant.

STEP 1

– Wash/drain rice, then add to the saucepan. Add water and salt. Stir to combine. Bring to a boil, then cover and simmer for 20 minutes.

STEP 2

– While the rice is cooking, whisk teriyaki sauce ingredients into a measuring cup. Whisk until smooth.

STEP 3

– Pour ¼ cup of water over the broccoli and carrots. Microwave for 2 minutes. Drain the water and set the vegetables aside until needed.

STEP 4

– Toss salmon with sesame oil, then sear in a heated skillet. Carefully turn the cubed salmon with tongs until the salmon begins to cook (approximately 2 minutes).

STEP 5

– Pour sauce into the pan and spoon over the salmon for 1 minute. Add steamed vegetables and cook for an additional minute or until the salmon is cooked through.
