Pan-Seared  Elk Steak

What do you need to make the BEST Seared Elk Steak?

• elk steak • olive oil • lime juice • orange juice • worcestershire • soy sauce • liquid smoke • salt/pepper • garlic powder • onion powder • smoked chipotle  •dried rosemary • butter

– Whisk wet marinade ingredients  into a bowl, then add the spices. Whisk to combine.

STEP 1

– Add the steaks and marinade to a  Ziploc bag and seal. Massage marinade into the steaks. Marinate for 4+ hours.

STEP 2

– Heat a cast-iron skillet and make sure it's nice and oiled (or add 1 to 2 tablespoons of butter). Cook steak over medium-high heat for 2 to 3 minutes.

STEP 3

– Flip to the other side and cook for 2 to 3 minutes more, for medium-rare. Don't overcook or it will dry out.

STEP 4

– Allow the steaks to rest of a few minutes before serving.
