Ingredients

  • 8 ounces milk chocolate candy melts
  • 2.5 ounces white chocolate candy melts
  • 12 double stuffed Oreos
  • 1 tablespoon sprinkles
  • 1 tablespoon candy toppings (optional)

Instructions

  • Microwave your melting wafers following the package instructions, or for 1 minute and then an additional 30 seconds as needed, stirring them each time until smooth.
  • Scoop about 2 teaspoons worth of melted chocolate into each mold. Using a spoon or a small rubber spatula, spread the chocolate so that it covers the bottom and sides of the molds without any gaps. Once they are evenly coated, place them in the fridge for 5 minutes or until the chocolate sets.
  • Gently place one of your Oreo cookies at the center of each mold and then spoon chocolate to cover them.
  • Decorate the tops of the chocolate-covered Oreos with sprinkles and/or candy toppings, then allow them to chill in the refrigerator for one hour. Once chilled, gently push the chocolate-covered Oreos out of the molds.
  • Add the chocolate-covered Oreos on a festive serving platter and serve!

Notes

  • You can line the bottoms and sides of some of the molds with a little white chocolate before adding the milk chocolate and use a cookie scribe to mix the two to create a marbled effect.
  • I used the edge of a pie server to squeegee over the tops in order to smooth out the excess chocolate.
  • If chocolate is too thick to spread easily you can mix in a small amount of coconut oil and microwave in a microwave-safe bowl for 20 to 30 seconds.
  • You can make chocolate-covered Oreos for other holidays too, not just Halloween. Here is a list of other Oreo flavors. Use mint Oreos for Christmas or St Patrick's Day, lemon for Easter, and birthday cake-flavored Oreos for a kid's birthday party. Use different colored chocolate melts, food coloring, and sprinkles to tie it all together!
  • I took the easy way out and decided to use sprinkles, however, you can drizzle the chocolate-covered Oreos with melted white chocolate chips or a contrasting color like orange chocolate melts.
