- 1 cup eggnog
- ½ cup brandy
- whipped cream
- cinnamon to garnish
Add 1 cup of eggnog to a saucepan and warm over medium heat until the eggnog is just about to boil. Remove it from the stove and pour ½ a cup into each glass.
Add ¼ cup of brandy to each glass and stir.
Top it all off with whipped cream and garnish with cinnamon, nutmeg, or star anise. Serve while warm and enjoy!
- You don't want to leave the eggnog over the stove long enough to actually boil, so make sure you remove it in time. It only took about 3 minutes for me before it was time to take it off the heat.
- While the usual way to make bombardino requires Vov or eggnog liqueur, I don't recommend substituting the eggnog in this recipe because it will change the taste and alcohol content.
- One of my favorite kitchen tools is a Microplane/zester which can be used to grate whole nutmeg and zest citrus. If you don't have one, put it on your Christmas list!
- If you're a chocolate milk vs hot cocoa kind of person, try this tasty drink over ice, I did! It's just as delicious.
- Don't have goblets? Serve your bombardino in a pretty holiday mug instead.
