Sweet And Tangy Tamarind Margarita

The perfect Tamarind Margarita is sweet, tangy, and definitely my favorite of all the margarita flavors. Luckily, it's really easy to prepare too!

Ingredients

  • Tajín Clásico Seasoning (to rim the glass)
  • 2 ounce tequila
  • 2 ounce tamarind syrup
  • ½ medium lime (juiced)
  • 1 cup crushed ice

Instructions

  • Add Tajin seasoning on the rim of a margarita glass by running a lime wedge around the rim and dipping the glass in the seasoning, set aside.
  • Stir tequila, tamarind syrup, and fresh lime juice in a tall glass.
  • Fill ¾ of the margarita glass with crushed ice, then pour the margarita mix over the ice, then stir.
  • Garnish with a lime slice and enjoy!

Notes

    • If you prefer, you can use Tamarind Paste instead of making tamarind syrup. The only drawback is you will need to add syrup or orange liqueur to sweeten the drink. This step is not necessary when using tamarind syrup since it's well.... syrup.
    • To learn more about tequila options, check out this Cosmopolitan post that covers the 15 Best Tequila Brands. I personally use Jose Cuervo, but I will leave the choice up to you.
    • Serve this tamarind margarita with smoked carne asada for a delicious, Mexican meal!
