Add 1 cup of eggnog to a saucepan and warm over medium heat until the eggnog is just about to boil. Remove it from the stove and pour ½ a cup into each glass.
Add ¼ cup of brandy to each glass and stir.
Top it all off with whipped cream and garnish with cinnamon, nutmeg, or star anise. Serve while warm and enjoy!
Notes
You don't want to leave the eggnog over the stove long enough to actually boil, so make sure you remove it in time. It only took about 3 minutes for me before it was time to take it off the heat.
While the usual way to make bombardino requires Vov or eggnog liqueur, I don't recommend substituting the eggnog in this recipe because it will change the taste and alcohol content.
One of my favorite kitchen tools is a Microplane/zester which can be used to grate whole nutmeg and zest citrus. If you don't have one, put it on your Christmas list!
If you're a chocolate milk vs hot cocoa kind of person, try this tasty drink over ice, I did! It's just as delicious.
Don't have goblets? Serve your bombardino in a pretty holiday mug instead.
