Start by laying down fresh vegetables along with ramekins filled with syrups, spreads, dips, etc.
Next, add the fresh fruits, cheeses, and meats.
Place the crackers and sweets.
Finish off the board with fresh herbs, fillers, and garnishes, using them to reinforce any empty spaces on the board. You may need to rearrange some things to make it all fit!
Notes
Try cutting some of the ingredients into different shapes, and make sure there's at least one ingredient from each category on each side.
One great place to get items to add to your charcuterie board is the dollar store. There is always lots to choose from!
Adding fresh spring flowers from your garden is a great way to accent your Easter charcuterie board. Just make sure the flowers are edible and haven't been sprayed with pesticides.
Charcuterie boards are better when they're prepared fresh. If they are prepared too far in advance, some of the ingredients will begin to deteriorate.
Making a list of the categories before you go shopping can help you remember the rule of 3-3-3-3 (selecting 3 items from four specific categories).
Don't forget to check your cupboards and fridge for ingredients you may already have, such as crackers and sweets.
