    Why This Recipe Works

These ghost cupcakes are not only adorable, but they're very easy to prepare, even if you're not Martha Stewart in the kitchen. For the record, I'm not either. Luckily, these Halloween cupcakes don't require a lot of skill to prepare. Your little goblins will enjoy decoraing and devouring them!

    What Goes into This Recipe

    Recipe Ingredient Notes

    • Boxed Chocolate Cake (and box ingredient list) — Any boxed cake mix can be used to make the cupcakes. I use chocolate to go with the Halloween theme.d
    • Cream Cheese Frosting — If you want to make this recipe even simpler, you can use store-bought frosting. Just don't expect them to be as good.
    • Candy Eyes — Candy eyes can usually be found in craft stores, such as Michaels. However, chocolate chips can be used instead.

    How to Make This Recipe

    1. Prepare cupcakes according to box directions, using Halloween cupcake liners. Allow to cool completely.

    Expert Tips

    • If you can't find candy eyes, you can use chocolate chips to make the eyes.
    • After the cupcakes are frosted, loosely cover them with foil and place them in the refrigerator to set.
    • Remember that this is supposed to be a fun project with the littles. We're not looking for perfection. Each ghost will have his own character.
    • Whether you're making Caramel Apples or Ghost Cupcakes, just have fun and make some lasting memories!
