This Pumpkin Pie Blend Protein Shake will feed your body while tricking your mind into thinking that it's indulging in a sinful treat! So this Fall, instead of having a few too many slices of pumpkin bread, feed your cravings with a delicious and healthy pumpkin pie shake instead.

I don't know about you, but when this time of year comes around, all I want to do is indulge in delicious pumpkiny treats like everyone else. I guess you could say I'm suffering from a slight case of FOMO (fear of missing out). Luckily, there are other ways to fill those cravings with healthier options, including this Pumpkin Pie Blend Protein Shake.
I've tried various protein powder brands but I always fall back on my favorite, Herbalife Nutritional Shakes. They have many flavors, including pumpkin spice, which might be great in this recipe. But, I don't know for sure, since I'm in Montana and my pumpkin-flavored shake is in San Diego. 🤦♀️

🔖Recipe Ingredient Notes
- Protein Powder — The protein powder you use will probably make a big difference in the final taste. As I mentioned above, I love Herbalife products and get them through a friend who is a distributor. The banana-flavored protein powder would also be great in this recipe. If you don't know anyone who sells these shakes, my friend, Teri, can help you out. Who knows, maybe I'll even get a discount? 😉
- Spices — Although you can use pumpkin pie spice mix to make this Pumpkin Pie Blend Protein Shake recipe, I prefer being in control of what spices to add and how much. Not to mention, it's never fresh enough for my liking. If you don't have such control issues, you can use pumpkin pie spice instead of the ones listed in the recipe.
🧋How to Make This Recipe
STEP 1: Add ingredients to a blender in the order listed. Blend until smooth.
STEP 2: If you prefer a thicker consistency, add ice cubes, and blend again until the desired consistency is reached.
STEP 3: Pour pumpkin shake into a glass and top with freshly grated nutmeg, never powdered!
Cheers to Fall and to your health!
🤷🏻♀️Recipe FAQs
No, you can not destroy protein powder by blending it. If anything, blending it would break it down even further for easier absorption.
You have many options for liquids to mix into your protein shake. Some of these options include milk (whole fat, skim, or non-fat), water, coconut, or almond milk.
My personal favorite liquid to use (in this recipe and others) is 30-calorie vanilla almond milk. I love that it tastes so creamy, yet is low in calories. This is especially helpful since most protein powders have a lot of calories.
No, if anything it has many benefits. For one, it simplifies two meals of the day, so that you only have one meal a day to prepare.
Instead of grabbing fast food, or other high-calorie snacks, you can feed your body a healthy and nutritionally balanced pumpkin pie blend protein shake. Not only will it keep your blood sugars balanced, but it will decrease your cravings for junk food too.
👩🏼🍳Pro Tips
- To up the protein content, I add Collagen Peptides Powder. It's only 40 calories per scoop and increases this recipe's total protein by 10 grams! It's flavorless, mixes in well, and the collagen is great for your skin too, so why wouldn't you add it? I use the SR brand, but there are many brands to choose from.
- Freeze unused canned pumpkin in ice cube trays. Then just plop them into the blender to make your next Pumpkin Pie Blend Protein Shake.
- You can use a fresh banana instead of a frozen one. However, you will most likely need to add more ice to get the protein shake to the right consistency.
- Another great addition to this shake would be a small container of high-protein vanilla yogurt.
- If you are looking for other healthy breakfast options, try my high protein chia pudding!
