๐ What You Need For This Recipe
๐ Ingredients & Substitutions
- Sesame seeds: I recommend using a combination of white sesame seeds, black sesame seeds, and toasted sesame seeds.
- Dried onion flakes: Or homemade minced dried onion, but I wouldn't use onion powder as it will throw off the texture.
- Dried garlic flakes: Same as above, you can use dried minced garlic but I wouldn't use garlic powder here.
- Poppy seeds: Chia seeds are a good alternative.
- Salt: I recommend coarse kosher salt, flaky sea salt, or coarse pink Himalayan salt. I would not recommend table salt for this recipe.
- Red pepper flakes: This is optional, but gives it a really nice kick that I think adds complexity of flavor and texture.
