If you enjoy lavender coffee or other lavender beverages, you'll love this 3-ingredient iced lavender latte recipe! It's simple, delicious, and only requires 3 ingredients: lavender syrup, espresso, and milk. Make this tasty lavender latte at home at a fraction of the price you'd pay at a coffee shop!

🧐 Why This Recipe Works
- This recipe is easy to prepare and easily adaptable to your personal preference. If you like your latte sweeter, add more syrup. If you prefer it stronger, add 2 shots instead of one.
- Preparing lattes at home can save you money, especially if you're regularly buying overpriced coffee drinks at Starbucks or other coffee shops.
- The recipe can easily be doubled so that you can make one for your sweetie too!
🛒 What You Need For This Recipe
🔖 Recipe Ingredients And Substitutions
- Coffee: A good-quality coffee makes all the difference. I'm using my current favorite Shellback Espresso. If you prefer, you can use cold brew.
- Milk: You have the option of using whole milk or low-fat milk. For a vegan option, choose from almond milk, soy milk, coconut milk, or oat milk.
- Syrup: Before you can make a lavender latte you need lavender simple syrup. You can purchase lavender syrup or make some using my lavender syrup recipe. To make the syrup, you will need either fresh lavender blossoms or culinary lavender. Dried lavender should be food-grade.
☕️ How To Make Iced Lavender Latte
Step 1: Begin by preparing one or two shots of espresso using an espresso machine, or a Mokapot. I used 24 grams of ground coffee (approximately 6 tablespoons) which yielded 2 shots.
Pro Tip: When my son's around, I have him make me an espresso shot with his fancy La Pavoni espresso machine. Otherwise, I use my Mokapot, which my coffee-nerd son would say isn't a true "espresso shot." It works for this girl! Check out my Mokapot latte recipe for more info.
Step 2: Fill a tall glass ¾ full of ice cubes. When your espresso is ready, pour 1 or 2 shots into the glass and stir rapidly to cool off the coffee before the ice melts.
Step 3: Add 1 to 2 tablespoons of lavender syrup (depending on how sweet you like your latte) and top up the glass with ⅔ cup of milk. Stir to combine the ingredients and give it a taste. Make adjustments if needed.

Hot Lavender Latte
Although I personally prefer iced lattes (I don't like frothy hot milk), here are some quick instructions to prepare a hot lavender latte.
- Pour 1 or 2 espresso shots into your favorite coffee mug.
- Mix 1 to 2 tablespoons of lavender syrup into your espresso.
- Steam or froth milk using a steam wand or a milk frother and pour it into your mug.
If you're a self-professed coffee nerd like my son, knock yourself out with some latte art. Optionally, top with lavender.
🤷🏻♀️ Recipe FAQs
A lavender latte is a sweet coffee drink with floral notes of lavender.
Lavender lattes contain coffee in the form of a few shots of espresso mixed with milk and lavender syrup. The lavender syrup gives the latte its signature lavender flavor.
👩🏼🍳Recipe Pro Tips
- An even easier way to make a lavender latte is to add all the ingredients to a mason jar including the ice. Tighten the lid and give it a good shake. Now you have a latte to go!
- If you don't have an espresso maker or a Mokapot, you can use a french press to make lavender coffee instead.
- Pour some lavender syrup into an ice tray and mix in some lavender blossoms/buds. Once frozen, add the ice cubes to any cold beverage including lemonade, tea, cocktails, and coffee for added floral flavor!
- For presentation, you can sprinkle your lavender latte with dried lavender buds or add a sprig of lavender. I suggest the latter because it's easier to remove from your coffee.
Shellback espresso is made by Fire Department Coffee, a veteran-owned, firefighter-run coffee company that supports dedicated firefighters and first responders who are injured on the job, mentally or physically, or who are facing other serious health challenges. Who wouldn't want to support such a noble cause? 🇺🇸
